Biography

Kimberly A. Cheatle was born on August 15, 1972. She is an American law enforcement officer who has served as the 27th director of the United States Secret Service since September 17, 2022.

Cheatle was selected for the position by President Joe Biden and is responsible for successfully executing the Secret Service's mission of protecting the President, Vice President, their families, and other designated individuals.

Career

Cheatle began her career with the Secret Service in 1995 as a special agent. She served in various roles within the agency, including as the special agent in charge of the Denver Field Office and as the assistant director of the Office of Protective Operations.

In 2021, Cheatle was promoted to deputy director of the Secret Service. In this role, she oversaw the agency's day-to-day operations and played a key role in planning and executing the security arrangements for the 2021 presidential inauguration.
