Flexen Struggles Early, but Guardians Find Offense
WEB Daniel Schneemann smoked a two-run home run to right field in the bottom of the third inning, giving the Cleveland Guardians a 2-1 lead over the visiting St. Louis Cardinals. WEB Flexen ran into trouble early in the inning when he issued a leadoff walk to No. 8 hitter Austin Hedges. WEB "I mean, Hedges does a tremendous job every time I throw the ball there," Flexen said. "So I have all the confidence in our guys." WEB Reigning Platinum Glove winner Andres Gimenez teamed up with Tyler Freeman and Hedges to execute a textbook relay, throwing out a Cardinals runner at home plate.
