Roberto De Zerbi To Step Down As Brighton Boss
Italian to leave club at the end of the season after just one campaign in charge
De Zerbi has been linked with a move to Bundesliga giants Bayern Munich
Roberto De Zerbi says he is open to offers from other clubs ahead of the summer transfer window following an impressive debut campaign as Brighton manager.
The Italian joined the Seagulls in September 2022 and has guided them to ninth in the Premier League table, one place above where they finished last season.
However, De Zerbi has now revealed that he will not be staying at the Amex Stadium beyond the end of the current campaign.
"I have had a great time in Brighton, and I am very proud of what we have achieved together," he said. "But I feel that now is the right time for me to move on to a new challenge."
De Zerbi has been linked with a number of jobs, including the vacant manager position at Bayern Munich. The German giants are on the lookout for a new boss following the sacking of Niko Kovac in November.
If De Zerbi does leave Brighton, it will be a blow to the club. He has been a popular figure with the fans and has helped to improve the team's style of play.
However, Brighton will be confident of finding a suitable replacement. They have a strong track record of appointing successful managers, including Graham Potter and Chris Hughton.
