The Denver Nuggets rallied from a 15-point halftime deficit to complete a four-game sweep of the Los Angeles Lakers in the first round of the 2024 Western Conference playoffs with a 113-111 victory on Tuesday night at Ball Arena.

Nikola Jokic led the Nuggets with 32 points, 18 rebounds, and 8 assists. Aaron Gordon added 22 points and 10 rebounds, while Bones Hyland chipped in 18 points. LeBron James led the Lakers with 30 points, 9 rebounds, and 7 assists. Anthony Davis added 21 points and 13 rebounds. Russell Westbrook finished with 12 points off the bench.

The Nuggets trailed by 15 points at halftime, but they chipped away at the lead in the third quarter and took the lead for good in the fourth. Jokic scored 10 points in the fourth quarter, including a layup with 30 seconds remaining to give the Nuggets a three-point lead. Davis missed a potential game-tying three-pointer at the buzzer, and the Nuggets celebrated their first sweep of the Lakers since 2013.

The Nuggets will now face the Phoenix Suns in the second round of the playoffs. Game 1 of the series is scheduled for Thursday night in Denver.
